Yeah, great timing indeed.
And now I have to call all my clients to make sure they aren't freaking the hell out while watching Fox News

Is the cease fire over? I can't pick a side, but launching 1,000 rockets at your neighbor isn't what I would call 'acceptable'.

Well, truth be told, we are putting a lot of money and political promises in favor of Israel, so we've been 'involved' for decades.
I doubt it will see us on the ground though. Irsael can handle itself, it has the technology and finances. It's just a matter of them not overstepping their bounds and killing civilians needlessly in retaliation.
It's like there being this one kid whose parents died or something, so most people try to help him succeed as much as they can, and he is smart, but he's also a big bully who could knock anyone else in the school onto their feet. If you keep throwing a bunch of little rocks at his back and calling him names long enough... well... he's going to fight back, and when he does, he's going to punch you so hard that it's going to piss off a lot of other parents.

Sadly, no. We can't. Humans are such assholes.

Neither is the collateral damage (women and kids) that get killed by Israeli air strikes. In fact, I fully understand why palestinians support Hamas or are convinced to do so. Wheras almost all those missels have been shot down by the iron dome so I've never understood the violent israeli retaliation

I think it's the principle of the matter. Also, I'm sure there is a ton of deep seated hatred by both parties.

I don't know that I agree with Israel being called a bully, but your comment is quite accurate. They have been constantly harassed and molested either by terrorist organizations (Hezbollah & Hamas) or by antagonizing nearby governments (Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, etc)

What I find funny is that, maybe, if they did what the US and China did and put idealogical and religious beliefs aside, Israel and Palestine could become economic powerhouses of their own with all the wasted money and energy spent on maintaining the status quo.

You couldn't be more right. However, since both of these groups of people are so culturally linked to their religions the likelihood of them doing that is less probable then cold fusion becoming a real life power source.

I think that's one of the biggest disconnects in how, at least in my experience, most Americans view the middle east. In the US, most people will drop their religion when it no longer becomes convenient. One of the biggest reasons America has been able to rise to being world hegemon is because around the early 1900s, it institutionalized finance and economics on a national level as the primary way to improve people's living conditions, rather than religion. Same with China and Japan in the latter half of the century.
But these people are willing to do anything just because of what they believe their religion demands. It's a totally different way of living and thinking and it has kept a huge economic thumb on that region for years.
That being said, while "cold" or room temperature fusion is likely to never happen, we HAVE seen some success with hot fusion, to the point where we can actually build fusion reactions that produce more power than they take in. It just so happens that the margin isn't large, the cost is still very high, and the energy put in is massive. But that's a matter of refining it to practicality, not discovering it.

The ending made me lol. Maybe I should have said, more likely that I can go buy a brand new Defender 110 from the Rover dealership here in Nashville before the muslims and jews have peace based upon prosperity and quality of life.

Okay that will never happen.
